About Me:
Originally from Nigeria, West Africa, Dr. Olaniru was raised in the inner cities of Toronto, Ontario. Growing up in a family with a certain set of values has had a tremendous influence on Bolu’s life, including her commitment to education. Bolu completed a Diploma in Broadcast-Journalism from Sheridan College, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications at Royal Roads University, and finished her Master’s degree in Media Productions at Ryerson University.
Completed a Doctoral of Social Science at Royal Roads University, Bolu has spent several years working in a diverse set of industries including disaster relief, engineering, advertising, and broadcasting corporations. In addition, Bolu has committed significant time to volunteering for various community organizations such as Ryerson University, City TV News, Eye on Sheridan, and Rogers TV.
Bolu’s doctorate research choice of focus is Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) prevention. Her decision to pursue doctoral studies at Royal Roads University emerges from her interests in health care, women and children’s rights, professional communications, disaster relief, and humanitarian aid. These interests blend with her skills in values-based leadership and conflict management.
