Preventing Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)

Intimate Partner violence: Women Focus Canada

In 2023, Ontario had the lowest rates of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) among provinces at 269 victims per 100,000 population, although this rate still highlights the prevalence of IPV within the region. Women are disproportionately affected, with rates significantly higher than those for men across all age groups.

For long, IPV education has always been women-focused; this 6-month program educates men about gender-based and intimate partner violence, fostering allyship through workshops, discussions, and mentorship. The hope is that we empower men act as allies, identify signs of IPV, help prevent IPV and ultimately to promote healthy relationships and community safety.
